Director/General Election

The District’s next Board of Directors/General Election is scheduled to be held on May 4, 2024. The location of the Election will be determined upon the District formally ordering the Election and will be then posted on the District’s website.

Campaign Finance Filings:

Director Elections

Below are the timelines and legal requirements for the District’s Board of Directors Elections pursuant to House Bill 305, Section 2051.152.

President: Michael Crayton, Term until May 2026
Vice President: Martha Gutierrez, Term until May 2024
Secretary: David Berry, Term until May 2024
Assistant Secretary: Mikuel Draper, Term until May 2024
Treasurer: Martha Velazquez, Term until May 2026

The location(s) of the election will be posted upon determination. The election shall be conducted at the polling places established by Harris County to serve the county’s regular election precincts within the District, as required by Sections 42.0621 and 43.004 of the Texas Election Code. Similar to its most recent prior election, the District anticipates that Harris County will authorize voters to vote at the voting locations established by Harris County.

First Day to file for General Election Ballot January 17, 2024

Last Day to file for General Election Ballot February 16, 2024

Election Day May 4, 2024

Candidate Requirements

For Interested Candidates

Interested applicants should request an Application for Place on Ballot from the District’s Designated Agent for Elections, Polley Garza PLLC, by contacting Alison Miller at alison@polleygarza.com or 346-440-1147. To review the General Requirements for Application in its entirety, please see (Texas Election Code 141.031)

Requirements for filing for candidacy:

To be eligible to be a candidate for the position of Director, a person must:

Be at least 18 years old;
Be a resident citizen of the State of Texas; and
Either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District.
