Bridgestone Municipal Utility District has approved a new rate order — the first comprehensive change in nearly 20 years. During that time the cost of water production, wastewater treatment, trash and recycling, and security have increased dramatically. The District has worked to manage expenses and limit direct impacts where possible, but we have reached a point where we must make a significant change to ensure the long-term stability of our utility system.
Most customers will see a modest increase, but some individual customers may see larger increases based on connection type, meter size, and usage. We recognize that an increase may create some hardship, but we are no longer able to subsidize service at the current level. New rates went into effect on February 17, 2026, and are reflected in your current billing.
