InTEN™ District Alert System — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the InTEN™ District Alert System ("InTEN"), a text message (SMS) and email notification program operated for Bridgestone Municipal Utility District (the "District"), with messaging services provided by Touchstone District Services. It describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information We Collect

When you register for InTEN alerts, we collect:

  • Contact information: first name, last name, email address, and mobile phone number
  • Service address: street address, city, and zip code — used solely to assign your neighborhood and notification zone so you only receive alerts that apply to your area
  • Consent and message records: records of your opt-in, opt-out, and message delivery status

We do not collect information about you from third parties for this program.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information collected through the InTEN program is used only to:

  • Send the text and/or email alerts you registered to receive
  • Target alerts to the neighborhoods or zones affected by a District event
  • Operate, maintain, and improve the notification system
  • Respond to help requests and provide customer support
  • Comply with legal or regulatory obligations

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your personal information with affiliated or unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your information may be disclosed only to:

  • Service providers that operate and deliver the messaging program on the District's behalf (such as messaging aggregators and platform providers), solely as needed to provide the text message service
  • Governmental or legal authorities when required by law, regulation, or legal process

All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.

5. Data Retention

Your registration information is retained while you remain enrolled in the program. If you opt out by replying STOP, your mobile number is suppressed from future messages. Records of consent and opt-out may be retained as needed to demonstrate compliance with applicable requirements.

We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information collected through the program against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.

The InTEN alert program is intended for District residents and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this program.
