Trash Collection

NEW COLLECTION SCHEDULE BEGINS IN JANUARY!

Trash collection – Mondays and Thursdays
Heavy Trash/Yard Waste – Mondays
Recycling – Wednesdays

All residents must use the carts provided. Please have carts at the curb by 7 a.m. on collection days.

Trash service is provided by Republic Services . You can reach their Customer Service department at (713) 635-6666.

Please review the Collection Protocol (below) for acceptable and unacceptable items.

  • TRASH COLLECTION – with Republic Services 96 gal trash carts. Weekly on Monday/Thursday.
  • RECYCLING COLLECTION with 96 gal Republic Services recycling cart – Weekly on Wednesday.
  • HEAVY/BULK TRASH and YARD WASTE COLLECTION – Weekly on Monday.
  • Have all collections at the curb by 7 a.m.
  • Place carts 5 feet from any object to insure a safe collection. Close cart lids.
  • Republic Services closes for these holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day. (See additional Heavy Trash information below)

Heavy Trash Collection

Acceptable Heavy Trash Items:

Household Appliances

Household Appliances – Refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners must have Freon drained and be tagged accordingly by a certified technician.

Hot water heaters must be drained.

Live Christmas trees. Ornaments, tinsel, and lights to be removed.

Furniture. Mattresses. Broken down cardboard moving boxes.

Grills must be emptied of ash or briquettes. No propane tanks. No toilets.

Unacceptable Heavy Trash Items:

  • Fencing or Fencing Pickets
  • Drywall or Sheetrock
  • Wood or Nails
  • Windows
  • Insulation
  • Propane Tanks
  • Tree Trunks
  • Water Softeners
  • Tires
  • Construction/Remodeling Debris
  • Steel or cast-iron building material
  • Carpet or Tile
  • Dirt
  • Paneling
  • Basketball Hoops Not Broken Down
  • Doors
  • Masonry debris, Concrete or Stone
  • Pool Filters
  • Lawn Mowers
  • Bathtubs, Sinks or Toilets

Packing Peanuts:

Packing peanuts must be bagged.  Drivers will not clean up packing peanut spills.

Yard Waste:

Bush and tree trimmings cut in lengths not to exceed 4 feet, no greater than 2 inches in diameter, securely tied in bundles, not to exceed 50 lbs. All grass clippings, and leaves must be bagged. No storm debris.

Recycling Collection

Acceptable Recycling Items:

  • Paperboard
  • Brown paper bags
  • Phone books
  • Catalogs
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Junk mail
  • Aluminum cans
  • Office and school paper
  • Cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars
  • Plastics 1,2,3,4,5 and 7
  • Cereal and  food boxes
    • Remove any food or liquid contents from the recyclable item.
    • Rinse the recyclable item to remove any residue.
    • Shake off excess water before placing the item into your recycling container.
    • No clothing, shoes, pizza boxes or any items not on the above list should be put in your recycling cart.
  • DO NOT place yard waste in your recycle bin.
