
The following is the trash collection schedule and details for residential properties within Bridgestone MUD. Trash service is provided by Republic Services who may be contacted at their Customer Service number: (713) 635-6666.
Please review the Collection Protocol (below) for acceptable and unacceptable items.
Neighborhood Schedules
Holidays – Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, & New Year’s Day. If the Holiday falls on your trash collection day – service will be the next scheduled trash collection day. If the Holiday falls on your recycling collection day, service will be the next day.
Bridgestone and Bridgestone West
Note: Please have your garbage/recycling at the curb by 7 a.m.
- Garbage Collection – Twice per Week – Hand pick up at the Curb – Monday and Thursday. Please note trash will not be collected if placed in the 95 Gallon Recycling Cart. Republic Services does not provide the trash containers.
- Recycling Collection – 95 Gallon Cart – 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each Month – Only those items in the recycling cart will be collected. Republic Services provides the recycling carts. Recycling carts are blue with green, grey or light blue lids.
- Heavy Trash Collection – Once per Week – Hand pick up at the Curb – Thursdays. (See additional Heavy Trash information below)
All Other Neighborhoods
Note: Please have your garbage/recycling at the curb by 7 a.m.
- Garbage Collection – Twice per Week – 95 Gallon Cart – Monday/Thursday – Only items place in the garbage cart will be collected. Please note trash will not be collected if placed in the 95 Gallon Recycling Cart. Trash carts are blue with matching blue lids or back lids provided by Republic Services.
- Recycling Collection – 95 Gallon Cart – 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each Month – Only items placed in the recycling cart will be collected. Recycling carts are blue with green, grey or light blue lids provided by Republic Services.
- Heavy Trash Collection – Twice per Month – 1st and 3rd Thursday of each Month at the curb.

Heavy Trash Collection
Acceptable Heavy Trash Items:
Household Appliances
Refrigerators must have Freon drained and be tagged accordingly by a certified technician.
Hot water heaters must be drained.
Furniture. Live Christmas trees.
Grills must be emptied of ash or briquettes.

- Wood or Nails
- Windows
- Insulation
- Propane Tanks
- Tree Trunks
- Water Softeners
- Tires
- Construction/Remodeling Debris
- Steel or cast-iron building material
- Carpet or Tile
- Dirt
- Paneling
- Basketball Hoops Not Broken Down
- Doors
- Masonry debris, Concrete or Stone
- Pool Filters
- Lawn Mowers
- Bathtubs, Sinks or Toilets
Packing Peanuts:
Packing peanuts must be bagged. Drivers will not clean up packing peanut spills.
Yard Waste:
Bush and tree trimmings cut in lengths not to exceed 4 feet, no greater than 2 inches in diameter, securely tied in bundles, not to exceed 35 lbs.
All grass clippings, and leaves must be bagged. No tree trunks.
Recycling Collection
Acceptable Recycling Items:
- Paperboard
- Brown paper bags
- Phone books
- Catalogs
- Magazines
- Newspapers
- Junk mail
- Aluminum cans
- Office and school paper
- Cardboard
- Glass bottles and jars
- Plastics 1,2,3,4,5 and 7
- Cereal and food boxes
- Remove any food or liquid contents from the recyclable item.
- Rinse the recyclable item to remove any residue.
- Shake off excess water before placing the item into your recycling container.
- No clothing, shoes, pizza boxes or any items not on the above list should be put in your recycling cart.
